Telephone compatibility

Hi Alan,

Yes, they will actually do. It is pretty much a world-wide standard except for some exchanges in France!

There are only two things to bear in mind:

1. The telephone socket is different than the standard North American (or the latest ones that you get in South Africa). Not exactly the same, but the look similar to ones one used to get in South Africa before the '90s.

So you just need to get a plug converter.

2. If it is a phone that need additional power - e.g. cordless phone, or a fax/phone combo, etc., then you will have to check if the power supply can be fed from 220/240V (not as per the 110V in Canada).

If it is a normal corded phone that does not need additional power - then no issue.
