Hi julle!!!

My man is microsoft certified senior software developer, en ek is 'n stoel assistent vir periodontis.

Enige plek in Aus, maak nie saak waar, ons wil net hier uit!

Baie dankie ;)

((((Hugs))))) that is terrible. Can you not start the process for a PR though? As an MCSD if he applies to the ACS they could very well find in favour of him being qualified enough as an analyst programmer or a systems developer etc depending on his experiance. It's too late before 1 July deadline, but it might be a good thing. Alternatively he must get on LinkedIn and start networking all over and start sending his CV to as many companies as possible and see if anyone is willing to sponsor him.

where there is a will there is a way. Don't give up!!!!!

MCSD = Microsoft certified software developer and ACS = Australian Computer Society. They are the body in Australia that certifies your qualifications and work experiance. Also can I suggest having a chat to a good agent. We spoke to Reuven at migrate2oz who was extremely helpful even before we signed up with them. He gave us a lot of good advice that we didn't even know about. There are others who can recommend other agents as well who will give you a free consultation (usually on the phone) and look at your qualifications/experiance and just advise you about your options.

Regards

Shona

Marichelle, vasbyt! have a look at www.dialog.com.au also www.seek.com.au and investigate the State sponsored visas. With the changes to the visas 1st July we are not sure the implications so either familiarise yourself with http://www.immi.gov.au/ and new changes or find an agent like miraclebabycaw and I who used migrate2oz. www.migrate2oz.com.au or www.migrate2oz.co.za Reuven and Ray are great. Hope this helps. Stay close to this forum for updates.

A similar thing happened to me, but I eventually made it to Oz, so please don't give up. I was offered a position leading the Adelaide office of a national company. They offered me a great salary and lots of perks, and even offered to pay for my relocation costs. I resigned from work, sold the cars, sold the house - alles! ON THE DAY OF OUR MEDICAL exams, after all forms had been completed and submitted, I received a phone call from the national director to say that they had decided to close the office down because they had just lost some big clients! I thought my family was playing tricks on me, that perhaps I was being set up by Leon Schuster for a new film, but no, it was serious.

A WHOLE year later, I eventually managed to find another offer and have been in Adelaide now for a year and a half.

NEVER GIVE UP!

Hi,

This is very much the same situation I have encountered.

We have been wanting to move to Australia for a very long time now.

I am a senior analyst programmer with 2 additional Microsoft technology specialist certifications.

Last year, I sent my CV out to a few companies in Australia , and also spoke to my current employer (as they are world wide and very well known)...

When I didn't hear anything back, I decided it best to do the 175 Skilled visa .. which is a PR visa.

So, End of last year, I got my skills assessed by the ACS (Australian Computer Society) - Skills assessment was positive

Me and my wife went for the IELTS exams (the english exams) - both passed.

Then just before doing the actual visa application ... my company said they don't want to loose me and they are sure they can get me into the AsiaPac region within the firm.

I did 2 interviews, everything was good, got upto the point where it was verbally approved. When It came down to written approval, they were instructed (by our global region in America) to rather get somebody that sits in India to work for them as It is much cheaper....

This all took almost 3 months .... so I wasn't impressed as I just wasted 3 months ... and ended up doing the 175 visa myself anyways.

----- I would suggest you don't rely on a company for sponsorship ... as you might be waiting a while. Look at your visa options on the immigration website ... . Either way, you will need to have his skills assessed by ACS. Do IELTS exams. Also apply for both of your Unabridged birth certificates and marriage certificate... this takes a while ....

Also - start reading up on Skills Select

Marichelle,

Whatever you do dont give up. We went through a similar process last year, and we were also told to hang in there. Its easier said than done but believe me hang on. We decided the beginning of this year that it is just too demoralizing, but decided to give it one more try. Well the rest is history ..... we will be on our way to Oz shortly!
