mark e
hello, I'd like to hear some thoughts on our stategy:MY girlfriend and I are going to apply for a Skilled - Australian Sponsored visa(138) or Skilled - Independent Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 495). But becuase of the long processing times, we would like to go work in New Zealand for a few years in the interm (I can get a work permit relatively easily).my question is: will applying for an aussie visa, and then moving to NZ for a while be detrimental to the aussie application process? Will it count against us in any way?
Mara
Hi Mark eI cannot think of one single reason why it should matter, after all I know of at least three families who emigrated to New Zealand and once there, decided they did not like it. They then made application to go to Australia, this is long before they were eligible for NZ citizenship. So if they could apply to go to Australia, as South Africans from NZ, then I cannot see a reason why you could not do so. Good luck!
