liza Posted February 28, 2007 Report Share Posted February 28, 2007 Hi everybody, this is an update as to why we are still waiting for our 136 visa approval (RSteyn and me). We were asked for further proof of employment early January, we immediately took tax certificates to our agent. Our file was that dated for the end of January 2007. We expected to hear something shortly after that, but nothing. We requested our agent to follow up. We then later phoned DIMA ourselves, just to be told that they are only allowed to speak to our agent. We asked the agency to phone for us, which never happened. After this we "fired" our agent and submitted the change of circumstance. On Friday last week we phoned DIMA again and was informed that they never received the documents, which we were told by the agent was e-mailed and couriered. They also told us that our file was now dated for this week. So we rushed to get the documents from the agent and to get them certified.So hopefully we will get somewhere now, just concerned about what else the agent screwed up. If you do use an agent make sure that your contact details is on your application and not theirs, this way if you feel something is wrong you can follow it up yourself.So we are very frustrated, we basically paid an agency to screw up our application, what would have happened if we did not follow it up? We are also still waiting. 136 Visa Application lodged and acknowledgement received September 2006. By reading this forum and everyone else' time line we should be getting a CO during March/April hopefully. The agents usually have lots of cases and don't understand that for us it is our only case and we are waiting ANXIOUSLY to hear of any progress. At least you are now on top of things. MANDYL Posted March 2, 2007 Report Share Posted March 2, 2007 Hi Camper, We lodged our main Application for 136 Visa in September 2006 and still waiting. It is a general perception (i'm under correction) that from the month you lodge it takes ± 1 year for everything to be finalised. Some members on the forum who have lodged in August last year is now getting results. The agents frustrates a person but I don't think they report or contact you if they don't have anything to tell you. When did you lodge ?
