Cliff Lang
Hi all,My wife & I have been in Perth a few months and are busy looking for (IT) work in Perth. In the meantime, one of my wife's old customers has requested that my wife do some part-time contract work for her. We are lucky to get this opportunity to earn a bit of extra cash, and have the flexibility to work remotely. The questions I need answered are: who pays what tax, and what is the best way of getting the money out of SA?Ultimately we need to get our financial affairs in order, and ready for tax year end on this side. So if anyone knows of any financial advisors / tax planners in the Perth area, that would be a great help to.Thanks, Cliff
ottg
HiRead up on SME taxation here: Register yourself as a sole trader, get a BN number, ABN number and tax number. Open up a business bank account with a GST account (if applicable).Read: http://www.business.gov.au/Business+Entry+Point/A Sole trader is taxed as an individual taxpayer. You can have a discussion with any of the following tax consultants:http://www.stptax.com/http://www.itp.com.au/http://www.hrblock.com.au/employment.aspDo your proposal and qoute in Aus dollars with a small prepayment and 2-3 milestone payments. Make the Prepayment payable with signing of the contract. For the RSA company you become an International Service Provider and they need to do payment via Forex into your bank account.Hope it helps!!
