Case officer allocated

Hi all

For the benefit of those who can't understand Afrikaans, I will write in English from now on.

Anyway, let me begin from the beginning.

Last night, as we came out of church we noticed our car is missing. B)

Phoned the police and did what is necessary to do. Needless to say that I was very upset, for our baby chair, pram, my whole CD case with +- R4000 worth of cd's were now also gone. I could not sleep last night.

This morning when I opened my email - VOILA there it was, a letter from our assigned a case officer.

Now I feel like a king again. _YESSSSS!!!!!!! :ilikeit:

Just don't know why something bad must have happened first, guess there is a reason for everything.

Any how, we have already been for medicals last week and we are now about 2 weeks away from receiving our PCC's.

We hope to be leaving for Kalgoorlie in April 2007.

Thank the Lord for what He has done.

Oh Buck,

Such bad news followed by such GREAT news, sorry about your robbery! Good luck with the last few steps, sometimes I think this stage is the longest.

Hi,

It's always bad to get somethin stolen! But look on the bright side....now you don't have to sell the car, you can take the insurance money and invest it in Oz!! :ilikeit:

Maybe a friend of family member can help you out with a car for the next month or two.

Good Luck with your few months!

Cheers,

Hi Buck.

Sorry to hear about your lost. But i am sure the good news makes up for it. :ilikeit:

When did you send your application in ? How does it work if you dont have a case officer to send in your medicals ? Do you use your Ref number.

I am just thinking of speeding up the process.

Good luck for the next few weeks..... :ilikeit:

Hi Sheila2oz

We sent our apps on 28 July 2006.

I send a weekly email to aspc.processing@immi.gov.au and get an automated reply for the range of dates they are currently processing.

Ill quote:

"Applicants and Agents can monitor which applications are currently being

allocated for assessing through this e-mail service before deciding when to

undertake health and character procedures.

If you decide to undertake these checks before being allocated a case

officer it is suggested that these checks be initiated when allocation

dates are within three months of your date of lodgement.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT:

Applicants are not obliged to undertake these checks now and may wait until

receiving a further request from the department.

If any applicant is pregnant - please contact this office for further

advice before any person included in the application commences health or

character checking."

We decided to go for it. BUT going for your medicals and PCC in advance does not ensure you will be allocated a case officer sooner. We only got our case officer today and our medicals only arrived in Adelaide this morning.

You will need form 26 and 160 which you can download at www.immi.gov.au.

The doctors do everything and they just used the file reference number.
