Hi julle almal

:ilikeit:

Daar's net n paar dingetjies wat ek wil vra that came to mind.

"The one-year relationship requirement applies to people who are applying to settle in Australia as the de facto spouse or interdependent partner of an Australian sponsor. It also applies to the de facto spouses of permanent or Student visa applicants.

The requirement applies to all such applications made overseas and in Australia."

Dankie vir jou hulp.

Mooi bly

Hi Chantelle

Your photo question first: your photo is loaded to your profile, but not as an avatar. If you want your pic as an avatar you need to do that in your profile (Edit Avatar Settings)

De facto relationship - this has been adequately covered by Liza, but I am also going over in a de facto relationship and so far we have not had any problems. I'll let you know once we have the all important visas arrive!

Hi C'lou

Thank you so much for that piece of info. Now that I know how it's done, I really feel like a dumb blond. Thanks anyway. Never knew what that avatar settings was for, now I do.

Good luck with all your visas and stuff that's still in the process. Sure everything will go well. :ilikeit: Are you guys going to get married on that side? Is there any rule of getting married if you're not a permanent resident of auz? :ilikeit: Please inform me if you have any info on that.

Good chatting to you. Have a fab day. :o

Greetings

C

Hi Chantelle

We're applying for PR, at the end stages of the process at the moment, so we'll only go over once we have our permanent residence approved. I'm not sure what the rules are regarding TR visas, but I don't see that there should be any problem getting married that side. Are you going to apply for PR or TR? As far as our relationship goes, I'm afraid that both of us are far to old to waltz down the aisle, that's not on the cards!

Speak to you soon

Hi C

As far as I know the PR takes quite a while. We have friends waiting almost 2 years. I'm not sure what visa we'll apply for. :ilikeit:

You are really not old. You still look like a spring chic to me :ilikeit: You are NEVER too old.

Chat to you soon. Will keep you updated on our progress. Enjoy your day :o

Greetings

Hey Chantelle, you can be on my Christmas Card List!

The PR does take time, we applied in May last year and were allocated a Case Officer in Dec. Now we're waiting for them to go through the PCC and meds and give us an answer. Applying for TR is much quicker, but has its own drawbacks as far as we're concerned.

The thing is that this is such a HUGE step, my partner is self employed (as am I at the moment) and will have to sell his companies, we are both pretty old (this year 40 & 46) so to go over on TR just didn't work with our risk profiles!

Hope you have a lovely day!

C'L
