Once we have pr I believe we will go onto medicare and then can adust our private medical insurance for a more cost effective option. We are current on medibank paying $190 every fortnight - 2 adults 2 kids, generally healthy hardly claim, but like to be covered.Any advise would be greta. Thanks guysMandy
Danie
Mandy,Once visa granted, fill in Medicare forms and visit them, they issue a temp card and post original. Then visit MediBank and show them your Medicare card and there on the spot you can change your plan with them. The ladies have been very helpful with us in past and to change & upgrade was effortless. You also get 30% rebate on the spot which makes you monthly/fortnightly premiums less.Regarding visa, if you (or your agent) had all the forms and a completed check list it would not take more than 3 weeks to obtain approved visa.D

Eva
Don't you qualify for Medicare from the date you make your application?
Danie
Yes probably do, but our application went in and 2 weeks later it was approved, before we got to Medicare to apply for it...
