Hi all,

It's that time of the month again - last Sunday of the month - Coffee Club time.

With spring and this absolutely stunning weather we're having, it's time to hit our parks for picnics.

Sunday, 25 September @ midday.

Weston Park - right to the end where the kids play park is next to the lake.

Bring your own picnic blanky/camp chairs and picnic.

Here's the link to the Facebook event link: https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=251107704923529

Bring your friends and neighbours - the more, the merrier!

Hope to see you there.

Mrs Mupes

I was chatting to somebody who in the past had attended a get together here in Canberra, and she said that she found it depressing.

She did not go into detail but I picture in my mind a Group of Khaki Clad people, singing "Die Stem" in the 'Moeder taal' while the old SA flag flaps in the background or sitting around complaining how good they had it in the Old South Africa.

While I have heard these types of of get togethers happen in certain areas in NZ and Australia and to set the record straight so everybody knows, that is not what the CCC is about. It is a bunch of people, mainly Saffers English and Afrikaans, some Australians and even a Mexican who get together and socialise. Chat laugh and share a cup of coffee. Catch up on each others lives and maybe meet new people.

So all are welcome we don't discriminate, bring your Aussie, Kiwi and Indian, Russian, Martian etc mates and leave the past in the past.

So much for the weather warming up! It,s very wild and woolly out there. With so many people trying to kick this flu (Scott included), it's probably best that we cancel this months' event. Go snuggle up warm and we'll see you all on 30 October.
