Rialet
Maybe a weird questions but does someone know where I can order a special birthday cake from in Brisbane? My daughter turns 4 in April and wants a Barbie party (what else?). Back in SA Lynnwoodrif Tuisnywerheid always came to the rescue for this working mom but I hardly have been able to visit shops so far. Could also not get too much info on net - just all the Barbie party accessories like plates, cups and napkins. Will appreciate any pointers into the right direction!!!!Rialet
NZHigh
Hi Rialet,Being in Auckland I will not be able to help you, but two keywords found my attention.Barbie: My daughter is at the backend of a major Barbie phase and we went through the same 'problem' a few years ago. Party products are everywhere but the Barbie cake was difficult to find. We did eventually find a place that sold them (expensive though) but we eventually had one done for cheaper, so I am sure someone out there will be able to help. There might be some trademark issuesif you have it done privately so you will have to et the evidence quickly. Lynnwoodrif Tuisnywerheid: Suddenly my mouth waters. In the foyer section I mentioned that we come from the same area in Pretoria. This Tuisnywerheid was like a local at times.Maybe you can get a plain white cake and decorate it. I do not really know much about this stuff. Riekie
Michel's Patisserie (spelling??...) makes cakes with themes such as barbie, bratz, nemo etc. They have a brochure on what's available and you can even have your child's name added. Rialet
Thanks so much for the input received so far. I have managed to get all the party goodies like plates, cupes etc but Carla changed her mind - now the theme will probably be Disney Princesses. This happened after we went to the Cheesecake Shop in the K-Mart Centre on the corner of Wynnum and Creek Roads and she did not like the picture of the Barbie - Disney Princesses were much more colourful!!!! The cakes are just soooooo plain - just a picture of the character you want on a round cake - hoe mis ek die SA tuisnywerhede nou!!!! She had a fairy party last year and it is going to be hard to live up to expectations set with the wonderful cake she had on her 3rd birthday..... Will explore some of the suggestions that all of you made - thanks again!!!Rialet
