HeatherC
Hi everyone! My husband and I moved from Joburg to Mosgiel, where he worked for Fisher & Paykel for 17 months before moving to Christhchurch (New Zealand). We have been in New Zealand for 4 years, we left South Africa to get away from the crime/bad service/etc. and to give our two boys a chance of getting a decent education. Leaving South Africa was definitely the best thing we ever did and New Zealand is a great country. We are getting our New Zealand citizenship next year and are seriously thinking of moving to Australia in 2012. We have looked at all the main cities and so far Brisbane is where hubby wants to be. But obviously we still have our doubts as it is such a life-changing decision. I would like as much information on Brisbane as possible. Best suburbs and schools etc. Also I would like an idea of how high the crime rate is in Brisbane.

LeeInOz
Others you might look at areBureau of Statistics http://www.abs.gov.au/Bereau of meteorology http://www.bom.gov.au/http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR663.loop.shtml Transport and main roads dfor licence info etc. http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/Schools directory http://www.australianschoolsdirectory.com....ane-schools.phpDept of Education http://education.qld.gov.au/http://education.qld.gov.au/directory/phone/Public transport Train and bus http://www.translink.com.au/I am orignaly form JHB spent almost 4 years in Mackay and have been in Brisbane for going on 3 years. it has a hot summer, cool winters. Humidity is reasonable to a bit high. traffic is a bit heavy in the city and surrounding areas, some of it caused by major road upgrades that have been neglected for the last 20 years ( I am told). Apparently Brisbane was never going to be a big city so all the infrastructure has fallen behind over the years but is catching up fast. Lots to do if you look around a bit. We live north a bit out of the city 12 km or so. Like Australia and love Brisbane but have visited Sydney MelbourneHope some of this is useful
