Protecting kids on the internet

Question

Hi there,

As a result of the discussion on allowing minors on this forum, I would like to take a moment for the issue of security and safety of children on the internet (in general). Having computers in our homes and allowing our children on the internet has its pros and cons. I have made the following list and am hoping that these links will be a good place to start, for parents who want to educate themselves on issues concerning internet safety. Please note that this is by no means a complete list of all of the information that is available, nor do SAAUSTRALIA or I endorse / recommend any of the software, e-nannies, filters, newsletters, etc that are listed below.

Thanks SS! My daughter is now really getting into doing stuff online and it's good to see there's so many ways to protect her from falling prey to cyber vultures!

LOVE your signature by the way....... :ilikeit:

Hey Riekie,

Isn't it strange how life works. The already actively involved parents who need to worry least about their kids exposing themselves to all kinds of evils on the internet, will be the first to worry about protecting them. Yet the neglected children who could really use some protection and involvement, will be the ones encouraged to 'get on the net and out of their parents' way'... I can see you are an involved and observant mom, I am sure your daughter will be just fine !

Thanks for the compliment ! :ilikeit: I'm glad I finally made a choice..

Had some really good suggestions from ppl, don't you think !!

Love
