"Perth tax firm to close after staff raid

Michael Bennet From: The Australian August 06, 2010 1:06PM

PKF Australia will temporarily close its Perth office after rival BDO Australia poached 55 staff to boost its exposure to mining.

The swoop included remaining PKF Perth partners Craig Melville, John Murray, Marc Loftus, Joe Evangelista and managing partner Mark Pollock. The BDO swoop followed a Deloitte raid last month on the firm’s audit partners.

All five tax specialists will be made partners at BDO Perth and take their teams with them. The raid will take BDO’s nationwide staff to 1300 and partners to 170.

It is understood that PKF’s Perth chairman Brian Aitken is also likely to move to BDO, but remaining Perth partner Agnes Vacca has left and joined one of the big four firms, believed to be KPMG."

This may be an opportunity for CPA to go and knock on PKA's door!!!
