Ours was a bit out of the ordinary (with docs going astray ) but I've done the best I can below.Visa Type: 136 Non MODLApplication Lodged: 16/02/2006Acknowledgment Received: 28/02/2006CO assigned: 13/09/2006PCC, IELTS and Medicals Requested: 13/09/2006PCC and IELTS results sent: 03/11/2006 Went astray using South Africa's EMS service PCC and IELTS received: 21/11/2006Medicals Done: 01/11/2006 Doctor FORGOT to send results to LCU Medicals sent: 29/11/2006Medicals Received: 01/12/2006LCU forwarded Medical results to CO: 07/12/2006CO on leave: 18/12/2006 - 02/01/2007 and again 05/01/2007 - 15/01/2007Visa Granted: 22/01/2007 But the nail biting wait is over! To all of you still waiting... Everything happens as and when it should. Trust me, I've been through what each of you are still going through, but the FEELING when it finally happens is INDESCRIBABLE! My husband has been offered a sponsorship job and we have to wait for some number to put on our application before we send it in, mainly because he is over 45 I think if we submit the app with the number on it will help our appliction for Visas. They definitely have a very user friendly site. Booklet 6 took us through it step by step. Also once we'd been allocated a case officer, he was very helpful - answered questions etc.Just by the by, we know of people that applied using an agent before we put our application in, and they're STILL waiting. Can you maybe tell me how long is it valid for. I am not sure am i asking it the right way, but i heard that you have to activate your visa before a certain date. It means you must fly to Australia and get it stamped and then you have 4 years before the visa expired.
