Annette Posted March 10, 2010 Report Share Posted March 10, 2010 Zoot, is is so worth it. The Skyshow was last on in 2006, when we first moved here. Don't let anyone tell you it is only a fireworks show. I have never seen anything like it. It is basically about 40 minutes straight of fireworks set to music, preceded by a pop concert. This year it's a whole lot of Idols people giving the concert. This is what you need to know - This year is different as the show was cancelled because the council couldn't afford the insurance so this year is the first year they have it back and this time it is part of the Clipsal. The bad thing is that now instead of being on Bonython Park which is huge and you could just show up and sit anywhere, this year we have to queue to go through the gates into the Clipsal stage area, which will be opened at 6:30 pm. Only 150 000 will be allowed inside and everyone else outside in the parklands, which will be able to see the fireworks but not the concert stage. Public transport is free to and from the Skyshow. Pack a picnic and take blankets and low chairs. Arrive early for best view and be VERY patient. Expect long queues and mostly have fun. Oh and this time no alcohol is allowed.
