Just a quick introduction – my husband and I applied for PR visa in Oct 2005 and if all goes well the application will be finalized 'within the next few days' (to quote our case officer). So – we can't eat, we struggle to sleep and we rush to check e-mails every morning!! Let's hope we get the e-mail we've been waiting for by tomorrow!!We did the application without the help of an agent. We made the mistake of submitting police clearances too early, so we had to resubmit because they had expired. But no harm done! We will be going to Perth/close to Perth or WA – I am just very excited at the idea of moving to Oz. We didn't go for a LSD trip, but I have no doubt that we will make it work. Thank you for all the advise and encouragement on the forum. As a guest I was always impressed to see the personal involvement of the forumites – I hope I will be able to share some of our experiences as well!! Now – like a lot of you – must spring-clean, clear clutter and decide what to take!! And let me just add: I can't wait to get to Australia!! Elize Posted January 8, 2007 Author Report Share Posted January 8, 2007 The timeline for our 136 Skilled - Independent (non-MODL) visa (off-shore):September 05:Skills Assessment & collection of all other documentsOctober 05: Documents sent to DIMIA + acknowledgement received from DIMIAEnd June 06: Case officer assigned - request IELTS & medicalswe had to wait till end of Aug 06 to do the IELTS testsOctober 06: Request for new Police Clearance Certificates.November 06: Received Police Clearance C and sent to DIMIADecember 06: Request to make Capital InvestmentJanuary 07: Capital Investment acknowledgedand now we are waiting ....This is basically the timeframe that the DIMIA indicates on their website, but now we just want to finalize everything and go!
