Pippa
Hi Jenn,I don't know about a fish market specifically. I can tell you where to buy very good seafood though. We always buy our seafood from Gambaro's in South Brisbane. I know that there's some sort of fish festival in Redcliff somewhere in the year. Must be around October or something. I've never been there, but I've heard about is. I go to the markets almost every Saturday morning. New Farm (Jan Powers markets) is every other Saturday @ New Farm (next to the Powerhouse). Then my personal favourite is West End - lots of variety! The cheapest market in my opinion is the Brisbane Markets at Rocklea, but it is a bit of a drive. I love the markets with all th fresh food veggies, fruit, bread, juices and the whole atmosphere!Jan Powers markets is also on Wednesdays in Queen Street Mall. I work in Southbank and I sometimes take the ferry / City Cat over to the city. So many markets in Brisbane! You'll love it!Lovies, Pippa! XPS. Jenn, I think I still owe you an email. I won't forget! Jenn
Hi all,Thank you for all the feedback.I did a similar search to what Huisvrouki suggested and from the list, I was still unsure which one to go for. I went on the individual websites and actually earmarked the ones mentioned by Sbhennops and Pippa, Gambaro Seafood Market (premier retail outlet specialising in fresh and cooked seafood products) and Morgans Seafood (Queensland’s largest retail Fish Market). When I searched On Samies Girl which is on top of the list Fresh seafood stores in Brisbane, there wasn't good feedback. I wasn't quite sure about Raptis Fish market.Your personal experience shopping at these places to confirm that they are what they say on their website is comforting. Will definitely give them a try.Pippa: We really loved the markets when we came for LSD and spent a week in Brisbane. Brisbane Produce Market (Rocklea) was so vibrant and nice to shop. Also went to the Powerhouse Farmers Market (New Farm - didn't see much as we arrived late and many were sold out), Northlakes Farmers Market , Riverside markets and South Bank market. We didn't go to West End and Queen St mall as ran out of time after visiting school and suburbs. Next visit.Thanx everyone.Jennifer
L Herholdt
HalloI would like to offer the Chandler Markets on Sundays, corner Old Cleveland and Tilley Rds. It is mostly under cover if not under the trees and offers greate variety. The fish stalls are closer to the swimming pool end. Yes, it is a sports complex with an olympic size swimming pool and dive platform. And a sports injuries rehab centre. .... But I digress...Here is a list of all the markets and all the categories you can dream up. See you there. Jenn
Hi Lizél,I will check it out when come over early next year.It seems you can use the pool or ride on the monster water slide as recreational opportunities at Chandler Markets. Should be fun for the kids.Jennifer
