Springbok Posted December 13, 2006 Report Share Posted December 13, 2006 David Carte suggests on Moneyweb that SA executives make their Australian counterparts look poor, measured by after-tax purchasing power.I HIGHLY doubt that, even though Australian properties are much more expensive than those in South Africa - any of the Saffers in Australia have a comment on this?e.g. the ex-South African Gail Kelly, who is CEO of St. George's Bank, earns Au$5 million = R26 million a year, compared to Absa's Steve Booysen on R8.8 million, Nedbank's Tom Boardman on R8.7 million and Jacko Maree of Standard Bank on R24.4 million. And Gail Kelly is not even among the Australian banking CEO's top earners. Macquarie Bank CEO Allan Moss sits on Au$21 million = R110 million per year!
