Norm
Cheapest is always Emirates (but a seriously long flight). What I normally do is check out the following two sites: http://travcon.travelnet.co.za/travel/index.php and http://www.flightcentre.co.za/flights/flig...ent=australasia to see which airline is cheapest and then I go directly to the airline's online booking facility and check there.Norm
anchen
Haaikyk bietjie as jy direk by die ailines se site probeer boekhttp://www.emirates.com/za/of nog beterhttp://ww1.flysaa.com/saa_home.html.Die prys wat ons gekry het op SAA vir Maart is 'n R1000 goedkoper as die goedkoopste Emirates vlug op die ander sites. Dit lyk asof dit taxes ens ingesluit is. Ons het egter nog nie ons kaartjies geboek nie. So as iemand uitvind dat daar nog extra kostes is, laat asseblief weet. BUT: you have to take a land arrangement with the flight, e.g. stay over in Hong Kong for 1 night. Only "problem" is that you arrive in Hong Kong at 07:30, you spend the whole day there, sleep over in a hotel and then the flight to Australia only departs the next day at 23:50. Which means you are in Hong Kong for 2 full days. So it all depends on how much time you've got....
sonnetjie
Have a look at the following link http://www.zuji.com/web/content/splash_index.html they often have great deals on flights and accommodation.

Gee
THanks for the response ugys and girls will check some of the options out and let you know.THXBradHi BradAs highlighted by certain of the forumites above, cost all depends on if you want to do the "long haul" via Hong Kong/Kuala Lumpur etc and get far cheaper pricesorFly "direct"...via Joburg to Sydney and get way better pricesalso - obviously the time of the year you travel has a major price difference - during high season or notWhen we did our LSD last year we got quotes and there was a really cheap option, way cheaper than any of the others but it was an incredible "long Haul" as we trevalled from Cape Town to Melbourne i.e. Cape Town - Joburg - Dubai - Kuala Lumpur - Sydney - MelbourneWith 2 young kids there was no way we would ever consider thistravel wellGee Edited December 13, 2006 by Gee
anchen
Hello thereI’ve already posted this elsewhere but because I’m so excited about eventually booking our tickets, I want to confirm our ticket prices here. It is definitely the cheapest to book directly on the airline sites. We paid R8210 a ticket for a direct flight to Sydney. (Booked on the http://www.flysaa.com site). This is for 4-21 March. You can also get a slightly cheaper flight on Emirates for R7900 also only on the http://www.emirates.com/za/ siteBoth are everything included. It seems that your return flight has to be on or before 21 March. After that the prices increase drastically
