Adelaide Goverment accom.

It is government accomodation, meaning it was built with aim in mind of providing a roof over the heads of low income South Australians.

Many government houses were built to house the large intake of British migrants in the 1950s and 60s and is similar in style to the British council houses, although as a "bungalow".

In later years, government housing has been more modern and is not so much out of character with the local housing of that suburb.

Coming to Adelaide and having government housing provided thro' the Sth Aust'n Housing Trust means taking what is available at that current time.

It's only for 3 months, at the most, is cheaper than private rental and is a stepping stone into you lives in Adelaide while setting up here.

Annette lived in "Trust" accomodation when she first arrived, so suggest you PM her on its suitability.

I am guessing you are refering to the on arival accomodation. This is managed by the housing trust and was very good. It had almost everything you would need. Washing machine, kettle, knives and forks beds.

No linen, microwave or TV.

It was very clean, well looked after and the rent was reasonable.

Depends on what your view of "decent" is. We lived on a council estate in the UK in a (more than) decent place... We were happy with our OAA. It provides everything one needs, is dirt cheap and usually very conveniently located. Best left to those who really need it though, if you can afford better, then go for it...
