Newbie, halfway thru 175, ACS approved

Hi everyone,

This is a wonderful site for so many reasons...

Hubby and I are halfway there to our PR 175 visas. He needed to have skills assessed by the ACS with RPL due to having no IT degree. I can highly recommend Peter Chiam from ptlabs in Sydney to ANYONE and EVERYONE in the same boat. I actually found him here! Nobody in S.A. would touch an RPL and Peter specialises in it. Believe me, an RPL is definitely NOT to be tackled without an agent, the ACS is VERY sticky and Peter knows his way.

Pay a small fee initially to have him assess your case and if he thinks you'll succeed he will take you on. Peter is super efficient, highly knowledgable in this field, always returns emails and offers excellent service. I have noticed that some people try to solicit free advice from him and each to their own but I prefer to be professional, pay him for his service, you are getting your money's worth.

We decided last year Jan/Feb, started doing a lot of research, worked on RPL from about July to Oct and lodged with ACS in Feb. Got result yestrday. Hubby did the IELTS exam last July and score above 7.5 on 3 bands but only got 6 on reading. Need to redo to get 25 points for english so that we reach the 120 mark. So we are not the hare but rather the tortoise in this race, we should lodge our visa application by July then hopefully get a response by next Xmas?!

www.ptlabs.com.au and search for his comments on this forum as well. he is also handling another friend of mine in the UK and all is going well there too.

ciao for now

Tee

Hi Tee, just remember spouses must now also do the IELTS, but I see you are English so maybe you have proof of studies etc. Anyway - good luck with the journey. We are almost at the end of it and can't wait to start packing!!

Hi Tee

Welcome, and glad that you have found such an excellent agent. Good luck with the IELTS test - the reading can be a bummer.

Strongs for the rest of the application, and keep us updated.

Thanks!

As far as I was aware I did not have to the IELTS as I have an honours degree in psychology. I am also an author! BUT, if I must do it then I must do it... I will find out for sure...

I also have a degree from UCT and am also a writer, but it was much easier just to go and do IELTS than the other route...which they may or may not accept. It was relatively easy.

All the best for your future and hope the application process goes smoothly and quickly!
