Writer’s workshop Fact vs. Fiction: Writing fiction with a social message Saturday, 4 April 9.30am - 12.30pm Barry Levy, author and journalist from South Africa presents a hands-on workshop for writers. This workshop will cover a brief history of the author and his work as a journalist in South Africa in the apartheid years, his extensive writing on social issues in Australia and how harsh social circumstances can develop the writer’s eye. The author will also show how the realism of journalistic interviews and stories can be turned into creative writing by giving actual examples from his recent novel As If!. Bookings are essential.
