Arthur
Dear forum members,As a SIR VISA Holder at 6 months we filled out a survey sent to us by DIMA. Now at 18 Months they have requested that we do it again. They have however sent us some of the results of the 6 month survey so far.I am putting the figures here that it may give people who are in the process deciding to go the SIR route some insights.Employment ratePrinciple applicant 82 %Spouse/Partners 73 %Skill levelPrinciple applicantOf the employed 72% in skilled positions Spouse/PartnerOf the employed 44% in skilled positionsTime to find a Job52% within the first month82% within the first three monthsAttitude to job81% thought their current job was really goodWhether job was nominated occupation62% reported they were working in their nominated occupationThe main reason given for not working in their nominated occupation was that there weren't enough jobs in the region.Hours worked84% worked 35 hours per week or moreIncomeMedian income applicant $38,500Spouse/Partner $31,20087% thought that it was the right decision to emigrate 12% undecidedThose are about the highlights I would say from the figures and should give people a more balanced view of the success rate on the SIR VISA.CheersArthur
