MSc Informations Systems graduate urgently seeking sponsorship

At the end of February, my daughter's fiance completes his MSc in Information Systems in Brisbane. He is presently in Brisbane on an Occupational Trainee Visa and would desperately like to stay on permanently, but is having difficulty finding a sponsor before his visa expires in April. Does anyone know of a sponsor that would employ him (anywhere in Australia). He has around 5 years' experience in his field (mainly ARIS) and has glowing testimonials from the international banking group he worked for in Germany. With his solid work ethic, lovely personality, fine character and brilliant mind he would be a valuable asset to any company willing to employ him. With time rapidly running out visa-wise, ANY suggestions would be appreciated!

Has he enquired at local employment agencies who specialise in IT? Maybe get state sponsorship?

Thanks for your reply, Billabong - he is trying his very, very best to get a sponsor and recently came within a whisper of getting a job as a Business Process Analyst in Sydney, but, at the last moment, the company had to withdraw its offer to sponsor him because of the economic downturn. Unfortunately he and my daughter (a newly qualified psychologist who is presently working as a TEFL English language teacher in Brisbane) are rapidly running out of time visa-wise. They recently applied for the 176 General Skilled Visa (which I'm sure they will eventually get!) but as this takes around 11 months to process, they are absolutely desperate to find a sponsor in order to be able to stay on in Australia. My daughter has already been offered a job doing psychological assessments for a company in Sydney, but they are unfortunately unable to sponsor her. The frustrating thing is that she already has a sister in Melbourne (on a de facto visa); an aunt in Perth (Aussie citizen) and a sister on a 457 in Mackay. We, too, are waiting for confirmation of employment in Oz. Unless it is possible to get some sort of bridging visa or sponsorship from a company, they will have to go to New Zealand on a working holiday visa and pick fruit until something comes up for them in Oz. What a waste of time and talent! Any suggestions would be most welcome. KK

The 176'es are prioritiesed (spelling??) at the moment. Will definately not take 11 months! They should be assigned case officers withing 10 days of lodgement....If they have already lodged, I would seriously follow up with DIAC and explain the urgency. Seems like someone will be able to help you....good luck!
