Sydney. It wasn't the plan to bail from this beautiful country and people but the offer I've received is just too good to turn down. Still, lot's of friends in Sydney :)

Oh trust me... it was definitely not in our plans to move so soon again as well! But we got an offer from an ex-SA in Sydney.

So are you going for it? Will you have PR or a 457. If you have kids its a worthwhile consideration to make sure you get PR first.

Oh yeah, I'm definitely going for it. I spent nearly 10 years doing a similar job in SA and had a ball. I left that job very reluctantly 'cause the salary didn't keep up with reality. This is a chance to get back into the field plus the package is very attractive. Presently the employer (semi-govt) only offers a 457 which is a bummer because of school fees. I've posted elsewhere about them.

A pity you couldn't wait for NZ citizenship! This would allow you to live and work in Aus without any problems. Where in NZ are you?

Good luck with the move!

Yeah, that's a disappointment. The rules changed about ten days before we were granted PR. The waiting period for citizenship increasing from 2 years to 5! Bummer.

Auckland.

When we left NZ in 2003, the period for NZ citizenship was 3 years. I believe it is now 5 years.
