Johan du Toit
I need info on exactly what tests they do and what do they look for?
AngelaJ
We did ours in November, chest x-rays, and then they check your eye sight, blood tests for HIV and if you have a tatoo then an extra one, can't remember what is was. A urine test and then just a basic medical. Ears, eyes, blood pressure. Nothing major. Get hold of the Dr in your area and ask them for a list of the things that you need to do

Dr's in the JNB area are:Dr H Cobb tel: 0117881344Dr M Singer tel:0114851418/1439Dr K Ingham and Dr S Nieuwoudt tel:0113155817ARWYP clinic Tel:0119221253Sorry I am in Durban so not sure which one to use, I did find that the waiting list to see a Dr in Durban was 4 weeks. Once you find a Dr in your area they can email/fax you all the requirements and tell you where to go for the x-rays if they arent done inhouse
Renny
I also heard the medicals are valid for 12 months....so don't do it just yet untill asked to, closer to the end. Otherwise you will have to do them again before you enter the country
Bren&Nick
Hi Did our medical on Saturday gone past - very simple andeasy - The Willows Hospital in Pretoria ( Dr Conradie ) 012 -807 0385 - His receptionsit Mattie was very helpful - she called prior to the medical and went through each form with me - confirming all ID's, passports numbers etc to ensure we dont wait to long - Appointments need to be made 2 days before you want to see them No long queues - Medical - Ears, nose, weight , height, Urine sample and blood test if required. Chest Xrays ( took a ful 3 minutes ) They are valid for 1 year - only go whne requested to do so. Courier - approx R400 for all ( there were 7 of us ) It was really no big deal at all.Brenda
