tommo
Hi, a few questions :1. What do the Australian authorities accept as a certified copy (if its stamped and signed by the South African Police, is that ok) ?2. Would it be advisable for a Chartered Accountant to take the Academic IELTS test, or would the General Training test be sufficient ?3. Is it necessary to get an unabridged copy of our marriage certificate or would a copy of our "normal" one be ok ?4. I see that they want to know if you have ever served in the armed forces and if you did then they want evidence of service and discharge.I did my 1 year national service years ago, does anybody know where I can get the evidence of service and discharge ? Yes that's O.K., or stamped and signed by someone who is a Commissioner of Oaths ex officio, i.e. someone like an attorney or chartered accountant.2. General is sufficient.3. Get the unabridged version.4. Don't know...

Gonzy
Hi tommo,we were advised from our migration agency Hitchcock that they dont accept copies that have been signed by the South African Police, so I stayed very far away . went to the bank ( FNB in my case)and they commissioned all copies with no problems Gonzy

Riekie
Q4: You'll have to get those docs from the military head office in Pretoria (unfortunately I don't have their address or contact details). You will also have to declare any training you received relating to the handling of weapons, where you did your service, what your training involved etc. Your Force number, unit details and where you were stationed as well.
