JohanK
Hi All Question to those who has already applied for a subclass 136 Skilled Independent Visa type from with in Australia. As this is an Offshore Visa type one now has to leave the country at some stage to go and collect the visas, but my question is this. Does DIMIA advise you that your visa is about to be granted, as I am sure they will but how long before the time to they do this and once they have notified you how long do you normally have to go and collect the visas were you stipulated you will get it. Then, I have all the necessary forms that must go with the application so if I hand it in from with in Australia or mail it to Adelaide how long did yours take to be granted if your skill was on the MODL? Hope it all makes sense, if not send me a slap!!
Pippa
Dear Johan,According to my knowledge they send you a pre-grant letter to ask you to leave the country, but I don’t know long before the actual grant they inform you.I don’t want to hijack your post, but I always wanted to ask about the actual passport and the granting of the visa. You will obviously leave the country with your passport, but don’t DIMIA need your passport to grant the visa? Etienne, maybe you can clarify this for us.Thank you.Pippa
Madelein
JohanWhen the DIMIA grant your visa, they will let you know via e-mail or per post - depending on what you have preferred on your application. They will give you a timeframe in which you have re-enter Australia in this letter. You have to nominate your destination (ex Auckland, etc) and supply them with your flight detail, etc.You will leave Oz with your SA passport.Report in +- 5 days to the Dept of Immigration in Auckland (ex). They will "stick" your PR visa's in your passports (this only take about 10 minutes). Then you can be on your way back to Australia.Hope this helps,Madelein
