polly
Ok, last of the photos. These are around Flinders Street station. The Yarra river runs past the station and there are often canoeists on the river. The one building / tower at Federation Quare has a small board that posts messages that people have sms'ed. There is a little playpark next to the river with lots of parents and kids, though none of the kids are allowed by the parents to get into the sandpit...There is also the ferris wheel next to the river. Note the price of parking. The church is right across from the Square. There is almost always a wedding underway when we go past. Unfortunately I wasn't fast enough to get a picture of the cerise pink Hummer limo parked there last week for a wedding. Some of the locals have told us the horse carriages are not very welcome. Mostly because the horses mess Apparently there are a lot fewer carriages around than a few years ago.Flinders Street Station main entranceTourism BureauFederation SquareNext to the YarraFerris WheelChurchHorse carriageParkingAnother building

SpitFire
Oh, here's flies alright... All the foreigners walking down the street during hot days look like ninjas in training taking random swipes through the air at nothing in particular! And the flies come here from NSW too, typical! polly
They currently have an advent calendar up at Federation Square:Also this interesting display. It is about alternative housing. This example uses crates filled with strawberry plants as walls.Lots of big things happen at Federation Square. First time we were there they were trying to set a world record for the most people in Rocky Horror Picture Show outfits (the show is curretnly running here) This is the mostly empty squareI love this clock tower. Don't know if I posted it before and don't know where I took it. Somewhere around Flinders Edited November 28, 2008 by polly
