SASydneysider
We are trying to officially emigrate from South Africa and had our finger prints electronically done in Aus. These finger prints have been rejected by South Africa. Has anyone else had this problem?SAS
Olly
Was that for the police clearance? We got someone from SA to get the forms from the police station and send them to us, then we went to a police station (in the UK) and got our fingerprints done with ink. SASydneysider
Hi Olly,It was for the renunciation of SA citizenship that we had the finger prints done.I've since found out that all police stations in New South Wales do electronic finger prints unless you specifically request the manual 'role your finger over the ink pad' ones. This we did not know at the time.SAS
Riekie
SAS, we had our fingerprints done at the Castle Hill Police Station (the one across from the Caslte Towers Shopping Centre). Yes, South Africa does not accept the scanned prints and it was really quite embarrassing when the officer taking our ink prints made fun of the SAPD..... You have to make an appointment to have your prints done - you can call them on 9680 5399 - we did not have to wait long, (got an appointment for the next day) but if they get someone in custody while you're there, you have to make another appointment (the prints are taken in the holding area). If you are working, you can tell them and they will make you an evening or weekend appointment. Good luck for all your stuff - I hope it all get sorted out soon!!
