AllisonW
This sounds great but we are still in SA. We will be celebrating halloween at the annual brightwater commons event in randburg. Does anything happen in Melbourne around halloween? My one regret about going to OZ versus Canada or the US is that we dont get cool extra holidays like halloween or Thanksgiving But could not live with the yanks even for halloween Al
GSI
I think everyone will look at me like I am mad, but I am seriously considering using our landing date in Aus each year and celebrating our family's own thanksgiving. I feel that Aus is taking us in and offering us so much, our family should be so thankful. So what better way to remind yourself of that but to celebrate your own thanksgiving! (maybe not with turkey though, i'm not so big on turkey!!) Edited October 13, 2008 by GSI
Eva
What a fantastic idea!! May have to steal that and start our own little tradition.
AllisonW
GSI,I also think that is a brilliant idea. I think it is wonderful to have anniversaries of the heart and the date that you arrived in your new country is a big one!Al
