Jy is beperk in wat jy mag doen. Vir watse werk is dit?
LeeInOz
hi almalhet een van julle al n limmeted electrical licese moes kryhoe gaan n mens tewerk en wie doen ditwat toets hulledankiegideonIt is a restricted electrical licence. You must apply to the relevant state electrical board. I am in QLD. You have to provide proof of trade or a diploma, get a letter form your employer stating you need it, they then send you a permit to train which is valid for a year. Then go to TAFE (college for a week) and do a course and do practical at work. An electricin or Restricted licence holder must sign a log book as proof of practice. Then you apply. It must be renewed every 5 years or so (not sure). It is a lot of nonsense as far as I am concerned, to protect electrical trades. The people that run it are stubborn and a bit silly. I am trying to complete mine. The worst is if you do anything related to electricity you MUST have it, but they make it as difficult as possible

LeeInOz
Hi Lee,We are looking at WAThanxI am in QLD so I found this. I will give information so that others can find what they are looking for if they need to do thisEach state has a dept for this and they are named differently http://www.deir.qld.gov.au/electricalsafet...cwork/index.htm then restrictedQLD http://www.deir.qld.gov.au/electricalsafet...other/index.htmWA http://search.docep.wa.gov.au/search?q=cac...nd&oe=UTF-8www.energysafety.wa.gov.au.http://www.docep.wa.gov.au/index.htm http://www.licencerecognition.gov.au/faq.aspxHope this helps. In Australia if you use Google it comes up as www.google.com.au not www.google.com. This is because there is a google team in Aus.You can select Australian websites only on this one
Ausraven
Hi GideonI work in an environment where a Restricted Electrical License is an “Energy Safety†requirement. As already mentioned on this posting, if one is already qualified (in South Africa) to work on electrical/electronic, why does one have to re-qualify? When in “Rome†do as the Romans do, jump through all the hoops and get the license. The process is quite long, so bear with me…1. Get the application kit, 14 page PDF file -http://www.docep.wa.gov.au/EnergySafety/PDF/Forms/Form_R008.pdf2. Fill in all the forms and include supporting documents & letter from employer3. Send the documents to the Energy Board (and pay $37.00)4. The Board sits and decides if you qualify for all the license categories you applied for – this can take up to 2 months5. You get a letter from the board stating what categories you qualify for and a booklet which has to be completed by the training institutes you attend and by your supervisor.6. Find a training institute for the theory/practical training – in Perth CET http://www.cet.asn.au/training/electrical/nrel.pdf7. Attend the first compulsory course and then start your “in-house trainingâ€8. Once you have completed all the institute training and “in-house†practical, you then make an appointment with the training institute for your final theory/practical exam.9. They will submit the result of that exam to the Energy board and you submit your completed booklet to the Energy Board (pay some more) and then wait for the issuing of the REL license. It took me 7 months to complete the process (due to work load, availability of courses and Energy Board) and since then I have supervised two of my co-workers, the fastest time for them to complete the process was 4 months.Hope this will be of assistance to you…
