Riekie
I've been "diagnosed" with Tendonitis, Bursitis (shoulder) & Tennis Elbow (same arm) in May this year and since then it's been a painful up & down battle to get my arm back!! I've been to endless painful physio sessions (2-3 hours a week @ rooms + daily home exercises), got cellulitis along the way, had cortisone injections in both my elbow & my shoulder and I'm still in pain!! I wake up from pain at night and either my elbow or my shoulder would be swollen & red on & off. I've been taking Feldene since May (does not make a difference). To me it seems like the treatment does not compliment each other, but I'm no doctor, so who's listening??.... After I've had the cortisone injection in the elbow, it was pure bliss! But once I started my physio & exercices again (after a week of mandatory rest), all hell returned! Same thing for the shoulder... (although, Idid not have much pain relief after that one...) The physio says the physiotherapy & exercises may be aggravating the elbow, but for the sake of healing my tendonitis, I should keep up the physio.... Today I have a swollen red shoulder that's even sore to the touch - it feels like I'm having a migraine in my shoulder!! I just want to give up altogether and stop all medication & treatment!! (I've done the ice packs, infrared lights, elbow brace routine as well - no joy!!) Anyone been through the same sort of thing or could offer any alternative therapy/treatments? (Even a good doctor would help!!)

(Even a good doctor would help!!)Hell man that reminds me of the pain in a toe with Gout just hundred times worse, try a bee sting in the joint if you are not allergic I am a beekeeper in SA and have treated a few of my family members and my self with bee stings for arthritis and Gout in the past let the bee sting you right in the joins for instances on the elbow. It has been proven scientifically to be 500 time more effective than antiinflammatory medicine, the whitebloodcells will rush to attack the foreign protein of the venom and will then cleanup the inflammation in the joint aswell. PLEASE JUST MY ADVISE DO YOU OWN HOMEWORK BEFORE TREATING YOURSELF.All the bestLouis
GerhardinOz
What about acupuncture? Maybe you should try it?
Riekie
At this stage I'll try ANYTHING - I'm just short of chopping my arm off! Thanks for all the advice!
SASydneysider
Oh Riekie, it sounds terrible! I'm thinking of you!! What about going to another GP and asking for a referral to specialist? I can also offer the name of a rheumatologist, but you would need a referral - not sure if this would help though. Try accupuncture or even an osteopath!Another suggestion could be to call Your Health in Manly http://www.yourhealth.com.au/index.php?pag...ecialoffers.php and speak to one of the people at reception. Explain to them what you have and let them tell you who the best person would be to see. Their phone number is 9977 7888. They use integrative medicine, so it is the best from the medical field and the best from the natural health side.Good luck and let us know how you go!SAS
Rison
RiekieEk was ook gediagnoseer met dieselfde probleme. Ek was vir 8 weke in helse pyn. Sterkte! Sonja
Leon/Lou
Sounds like youneed the services of a good orthopaedic surgeon...I am a theatre sister (in SA ) and we do loads of surgery for those sorts of complaints. If it were me, I would get referred to an ortho surgeon for a second opinion, its not good to have a lot of those cortisone injections!! Riekie
Just a quick update: (and another question...)My symptoms became worse and I've ended up with an orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in shoulders & elbows and he is dumbfounded! I'm having a shoulder MRI & Elbow Sonar (+ another cortisone injection) on Monday. Hopefully it will shed some light on the matter as it does not seem that the initial diagnosis is the only cause of the pain (my symptoms does not all agree with it and it seems there's more to it...) Thanks for all the advice. I've done the ice & heat, the cataflam, the naprosyn, the brace, massaging & the works - stopped short of getting the bees in. (I'm not a big needle fan, so accupuncture would be my last, desperate resort...) I've been told cortisone is not "good" for you, but I'm going to take one more shot (it did relieve the pain for a short period of time, so if I could get a few days off the pain, I'll take it ). Just out of curiosity, why is cortisone not good for you?
Wizard
Thanks everyone!!!! And also for the PM's I've received! You give me hope!! My ou skoonmoeder seg toe, watwou !, twee teelepels suurlemoensap (botteltjies is fine) in half glasie lou water 3 keer per dag is die antwoord. Ek was binne twee dae beter en is nou weer my ou sportiewe self. Probeer dit net ! As jy vind dit werk, hou aan daarmee - dis nou deel van my daaglikse roetine) Sterkte ! Laat weet resultate asb.GroeteW
