Olly
http://www.guardian.co.uk/g2/story/0,,1844616,00.htmlI just came across this on another forum. Quite a long story but interesting to see SA from the viewpoint of a foreigner.
Cindylou
Thanx OllyThat was a really interesting article, I emailed the link to some non Saffer friends. Perhaps it helps to explain why the love affair is over for some of us.CheersC'Lou
BeeTee
Olly
My UK cousin was one of those Brits who came to live in SA for a short while. She arrived thinking she knew better than the rest of us and made the mistake of opening her door to bergies and giving them food and clothes. She thought we were being racist when we warned her not to. She soon learned her lesson when they brought their friends and pestered her every day all day from then on. She left a little bit wiser but still not understanding how things work in Africa. Edited August 23, 2006 by Olly
