Riekie
I thought to start this thread and maybe everyone can ad & share from their own experiences. Often new parents to Oz (or parents still emigrating) are in search of info relating to children - a one-stop portal to resources and know-how from other parents. So, here's my little bit...... My daughter is a teenager now, but I still find the monthly Sydney's Child Publication very informative. There's everything from articles on critical issues such as the schooling system, hyperactivity, pressure we put on our kids to perform, development etc. to birthday parties, child-friendly doctors, dentists etc. and where to get what. You can get a free copy from many newsagents, bookstores & toy shops but you can also read it online @ www.sydneyschild.com.au It is really worth the read! There's also:Adelaide's Child @ www.adelaideschild.com.auCanberra's Child @ www.canberraschild.com.auMelbourne's Child @ www.melbourneschild.com.auBrisbane's Child @ www.Brisbaneschild.com.auPerth's Child @ www.perthschild.com.au
Olly
My daughter is given the Perth's Child magazine at Kindy every month. Another good one in WA is The Parents' Paper www.kidsinperth.com that I pick up free in my local shopping centre, it also comes out once a month.
