Hi Adelaidians

We are taking a two week trip to Adelaide (late Dec, early Jan).

Any ideas on where we can take our boys for some good fun?

Oh, and any ideas on accommodation would be welcome too! <_<

Thanks

Kim

Kim, ons is nog nie lank genoeg hier om regtig te help nie, my man en kinders wil mos net see toe gaan....as die son skyn is dit strand toe.

Ek weet nie hoe oud jou seuns is nie maar hier is 'n paar goed wat julle kan doen, http://www.visitadelaidehills.com.au/text.asp?page_id=39 ons was al by Hahndorf, Melba's famous chocolate factory, Mount Lofty Summit, Cleland Wildlife Park en The biggest rocking horse in the world.

Laat weet my wanneer julle hier is dan braai ons een aand.

Hi Kim,

Gaan hierdie trippie julle LSD wees?

Gaan julle vervoer he as julle eers hier is of soek julle verblyf naby die trem en busroetes?

Groete,

Many thanks for the offer Wilna... I will take you up on that.

Kannidood, no this is not an LSD. We are already living in Australia (in Queensland). This will be a well-deserved holiday for us.

Hi Kim

Here are some suggestions:

- Cleland Wildlife Park, Mount Lofty Summit Road, Crafers,SA5182: Visit this website for more info http://www.parks.sa.gove.au/parks/sanpr/cleland_wp/index.htm

- Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary (Free admission), Stock Road, Mylor,Sa,5153 visit this website for more info http://www.warrawong.com

- Monato Zoological Park (African wildlife-game drives), located between Adelaide and Murray Bridge, just off the Princess Highway. visit this website for more info (great video)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=genaAHH7R-s

- Magic Mountain, Colley reserve Glenelg (on the beach front) visit the following website for more info http://www.sensational -adelaide.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=144

A tram ride from the CBD to Glenelg/Hodfast Shores and a day at Glenelg beach taking in Magic Mountain and lunch at a restaurant on Marina is a great way to spend a summer day in Adelaide. There are many other beaches relatively close to the CBD from Brighton all the Way "north" to North Haven.

- [b]Toy Factory & Big Rocking Horse, 1 Birdwood Road, Gumeracha,SA,5233 visit the following website for more info http://www.thetoyfactory.com.au

- A visit to the HAIGH's (South Australian chocolate - the only Australian chocolate) chocolate factory on Greenhill Road is interesting and a mouth watering experience.

I would also have suggested a Visit to Hindley Street but your boys are probably too young- just kidding :):ilikeit::D

For the adults a day trip to the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale (famous wine districts) and Victor Harbour/Goolwa is a must. Trains rides available along the coast from Victor Harbour to Goolwa - old steam engines used.

Enjoy!

Hi Manny

Thanks a stack for the ideas...so much to do, so little time (and of course the budget only stretches so far - pity)!

Hi

Being a fellow Westrander (Roodepoort/Florida) it would be remiss of me not to offer to meet with you while you are in Adelaide.

If we are in town at the time we will gladly meet for coffee (my shout) or even host a braai for your family. Bronwyn is just around the corner from us (but she is from the Eastrand/Springs :whome::blush:

Enjoy!

Manny
