Does anybody have an idea about once you have your visa application approved, how much time you have to get to Oz???

Hi Pierre :D

Not sure about the different visas but we were granted our 136 visa on 24/05/04 with an initial entry cut-off date of 13/04/05, so approximately 11 months.

I get the feeling theres no hard and fast rule applied when determining your initial entry time...

We got our visa's (136's) on the 16th July 2004, and our initial entry had to be done by end of Feb 2005...

That's 7 1/2 months...

It depends on the date of your police clearance as it is only valid for a year. We got our visum in July and had to make our first entry by November because that was when our police clearance expired. I think it also depends on the date of your medical because that is also valid for a year.

It also depends on the type of Visa you have. RSMS has 6 months from issue of visa to start at their job they are sponsored for or lose the visa

You have to make your first entry visit within one year of the date of issue of your medical or police clearance certificate, whichever was done first.

... or some people get less than that if medicals have a lesser validity - 6 months is not unknown.
