colton
Hi there,My daughter is in Uni up in Mooloolaba, well Sippy Downs actually but just down the road from Mooloolaba. We live on the Gold Coast and go up there often. She loves it there and housing etc is not as expensive as down this side. It is a great place to bring up young kids and reminds me a lot of Northern Natal, St Lucia, Richards Bay etc just more built up. Beautiful and weather is good although you do get a lot of rain, that's why it is so beautiful and green. Apparently also a big group of South Africans up that way, if you are interested in that. She has 3 RSA families in her church and we have none down here at our church on the GC. Edited May 13, 2008 by colton

We know some people in that area already so that is why we chose it.Also finding on a daily basis that everyone around us seems to be thinking of crossing the water. As far as a business is concerned well that is a tough one as we are a bit undecided. Our current businesses are labour intensive which we want to try and avoid over their as labour is expensive. We are in the flooring game (carpets, ceramics, vinyl etc).Have heard horror stories too of Saffers being ripped of so we have to be careful.Any pointers/advice in that department would be greatly appreciated.Shirls

We also liked Sippy Downs and looked at a few properties there.I have some Photos of Sippy Downs and anyone who would like to see them can contact me and I will mail them.Looking so forward to being back there and meeting up with people that are there. Would also like to meet up with People who are going. We are based on the East Rand, Benoni.Drop me a line and we can get together.

I think the best way is to get yourself an SA accountant who is qualified as a CA... (most of them can be trusted)Their are plenty in Australia... if you were going to Mellies, I could have suggested a few...Best of luck.. DocRip
We have a 163 Business VISA and will be settling on the Gold Coast. Either in Kawana Waters or in Noosa.Been to that area and Mooloolaba area is great. I think it can get a bit busy during holidays as this is prime beach spot.(Be sure to visit Hog's Breath Cafe for some great food)We did out VISA ourselves and did not find it too difficult. We already purchased business and now just waiting to sell the house and then we will be over there. Brissy Bessies
To me the Sunshine Coast is just lovely!! We live 4km's from the Brisbane city and I would give my front teeth to live in the sunshine hinterlands (Montville is a dream!) but work is where the home is in our case unfortunately!! So if you can make it work that way then it'll be fantastic!
