Olkabolka
Hi everyoneI wonder if there is anyone who has had the same condition as my son. When he was still a baby (he is 9), the doctor picked up a heart murmur. We were send to scans for his heart, and it was just that - a murmur, no big deal. The doctors can still hear this when he goes for an examination, and my house doctor told me a few weeks back that it is not a problem, it is only the blood moving through the arteries he hears, because the wand of the heart isn't that thick. Do I need to get a medical report to take with when we go for the medicals, or will the panel doctor know that it's not a serious heart condition? Frenchy
Play safe and take a medical report with you. I know Linda's baby also had a heart condition and it was fine.
Olkabolka
Thanks, I also thought it would be the best thing to do. Play it safe.
Linda
Hi,My daughter was born with a large hole in the heart (ASD) and I got a medical report from a pediatric cardiologist that stated that she would need surgery. Our visa was still approved.I would suggest getting a medical report from a cardiologist, especially if you don't want another delay if and when they ask for it.Good luck, it will be fine!Linda

candivw
Get a cardio report, my friend did it over there for her PR visa and her aorta is shrinking, her visa was approved!
Olkabolka
Thanks everyone. I called the paediatrician and he said I must make an appointment, he will do a thorough check-up and will write a report, unless we need to go to a cardiac specialist if things are worse than he thought, but he thinks everything will be fine. I feel so relieved!
sa2auz
HiI have a heart murmur and when we did our medicals last week I was told I have to have a echocardigram done and a report from a cardiologist pointing out any abnormalities. I went yesterday for the echo and the dr should have the results from the cardio this week. I really dont foresee any problems, they are really looking for TB and HIV which are the biggies. Olkabolka
Thanks so much. Will mention this to my son's doctor, and get all the nescessary documents and reports ready. I really feel much better. Didn't think I will be stressing so much about everything. Maybe it's because the in-laws are giving us a very hard time. Will keep you posted on what's happening. Gizmo
This is boo logged on under Gizmo's name (I'm at her house)The heart murmur sounds physiological (something some kids are born with, but it does not actually mean anything. It is not pathological), which means I would not mention it. Most doctors won't pick it up. If they do, you will probably need a report from a cardiologyst to say that it is physiological (which means they would have to do an Echo cardiogram). I would not worry about it too much from a medical point of view.
