Hi Adelaiders,

Anyone know the Beston Parks and specifically the one in Semaphore region, Adelaide?

We plan to stay there for 12 days prior to renting a house, hopefully, from 1 May onwards.

I have googled, wotif'ed and take a break, the options are . . . expensive!! Its peak season of course when we land on 19 April. Anyone have better ideas than Beston Parks?

Thanks for the help.

Hi Wilna

Ons het al in 'n "Beston Park" gebly in Margaret River omgewing. Dit was baie mooi, versorg en skoon. Ons het in 'n cabin (Sonder ensuite) gebly en ablusieblokke gebruik. Alles was baie skoon en gerieflik.

Hi Wilna

The Adelaide Beachfront Tourist Park, 349 Military Road, Semaphore (Beston Parks) is not bad, although it is some distance from the city. Last year we picked up a South African couple (from Nelspruit) who had booked in there and they were not that excited about the place. They ended up moving to Adelaide Shores the next day.........

Much nicer in my opinion is the Adelaide Shores Caravan Resort ( 0961 8 8355 7320) or the Adelaide Shores Holiday Village, 1 Military Road, West Beach (just north of Glenelg)( 0961 8 8355 7360). :whome:

Pleasant environment, on the beach, closer to the city, bus stop to the CBD just outside the front entrance. Google the sites and you can check out the Rates.

Unfortunately peak season from 11 April to 26 April 2008, so you will be paying the peak season rates for 7 days :whome:

If rates for the type of accommodation suitable for you are similar I would recommend The Adelaide Shores options (2).

Enjoy!

Manny

Wilna,

If you're staying at one of the beachside caravan parks, you'll be paying top dollar simply for the location.

Coming from inland South Africa, miles away from any sea, this may be a big attraction for you guys, but it will cost you $$$$$.

You won't find too many brave South Australians on the beach at that time of year . . . too cool.

Other recommendations are the caravan parks elsewhere . . . Brownhill Creek Caravan Park set in the pleasant location of Mitcham and in a delightful valley that leads up into the Adelaide foothills, or Hackney Caravan Park which is located about 5 mins drive from the city of Adelaide and on the banks of the River Torrens. This Park is great if you are planning on meeting and / or living with all the South Africans that live in the north eastern suburbs of Adelaide, since it's on that side of town.

Lastly, if you're planning on living in the pleasant countryside settings of the Adelaide Hills, there is the caravan park at Mount Barker with its access to the town which is rapidly growing in size, now offering all the shops and services available in the suburbs and having cheaper housing and land than in the suburbs.

You can do better than pay top dollar for accomodation.
