PieterK
I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but most Australian skills assessment bodies needs x amount of years of experience + a qualification, in other words if you study now, you won't have the required experience to gain a positive skills assessment. If at all possible, rather make the move earlier & study in Australia, that's what I'm planning to do.
Browns
I've got 4 years experience in hospitality and office management, as well as photography. (2 years)Do you know anything about Photography jobs in Aus?
maraai
If I understand correctly, you will be the secondary applicant and are just thinking ahead of what you will do once you land in Australia?I guess the same applies that applies for any career, what do you like doing? Have a look around the job sites and see if you can find anything that interests you, see what kind of job market there is and go from there. If you want to study, really go for something that you love and is passionate about. Something that you're good at or can become good at. Don't study something just because it is demand (unless of course you are desperate and that is the only way of getting into Australia). If you know where you are going, eg. Perth / Brisbane / Melbourne. Then have a look at their educational institutions' websites. Get some new ideas. There might be jobs you've never even considered before!!!Happy Hunting!!

PieterK
Sterkte!Michele

Leigh MC
HiIf you're not the main applicant then you don't really have to worry about your skills at this point. If you're wondering whether you'll get a job once you're there - I agree with the others... trawl through the immi site to see what sort of jobs are in demand.Interestingly: when we went to an immigration seminar recently, the guy there said that he recommends putting people on short courses - like hairdressing - so that they have a skill in demand. The more sort of 'trade-ish' the skill, the better, as that's what they need there!(That was when my boyfriend turned to me and whispered, 'you can be the hairdresser - not me!')Good luck,Leigh
