4mcnuts
Hi thereWe are proud parents of an almost 2 year old little girl. We're hoping to be landing in Perth in August this year, all going well. Does anyone know if there are any Australian toddler foods (cereals etc) available here in SA? We were thinking of introducing her to the new foods before we go to Oz, so that the change is a little easier for her. She's not a fussy eater, but it would be nice to give her a "headstart"! Thanksmcnut3
Frenchy
HiI found that the range of cereals available is very limited. The only one is a rice based cereal. They obviously have all the normal cereals like rice crispies etc, but baby cereal like cerelac, Nestrum, Purity cereal is rare. You can buy Pronutro at the SA shop in perth. I would suggest feeding her oats porridge, you get that, milk, butter and sugar in any country.I cook my daughter's food myself ( rarely bought Purity), so the change was not to bad here. catz
I agree with Frenchy... for little ones not a great variety, BUT i have found that my 10 month old loves his oats and weetbix... i also make them "mieliepap" from the SA Shop when i am in the mood!! Else, i just mix his rice cereal with some fruity puree or yoghurt.Toddler foods as such is more "merged" into the day to day things that the older kiddies eat. My little one will eat bits of the fruit bars and rice cakes that my 5 year old has as snacks. Lotsa variety if you think in a broader spectrum.Good luck!!! I am sure your 2 yr old will be just fine... kids adapt very quickly.
