Hello to all out there.

A quick question.......

Does the government or state cover chronic medication if one gets in on a work sponsored 457 visa?

Your health insurance-does chronic medication get covered in the policy or is it for un-forseen( accidents etc...??)

The state and federal government do not provide medical cover (medicare) for a 457 visa. You would have to get your own medical aid cover (health insurance) here. Some employers of 457 visa employees include this in your salary package, but they are not obliged to do so.

Hi Shaun my bud!

Go look at the following site www.iselect.com.au tog et an idea on medical aids.

This site is cool that you can get different quotes from different medical aids.

Hope this helps

Also check whether there is a requirement for pre-existing conditions or waiting period. Not sure what chronic medication you refer to, but because this is a pre-exsiting condition you maybe excluded on a medical scheme from receiving chronic medication cover.
