Enrica
It appears that so many of us have had problems with their recipes as we are used to baking at Altitude. There are some adjustments to be made to your recipes when baking at sea level1) Increase you baking powder by 1- 2 ml per 5mls called for in the recipe2) Increase Sugar 5-10ml per 250mls called for in the recipe3) Decreasing liquid 30 mls per 250mls called for in the recipe4) Reducing Flour - by 15mls per every 250ml called for in the recipe5) Decrease baking temperature by 10 degrees6) Increase you baking time 5-10 minutesMost important, if you are baking with a fan forced oven, decrease the temperature by 20 degrees .Example if the recipe says baking at 180 degrees, preheat your fan forced oven on fan forced to 160 degrees.I hope thatt eh above adjustments will see you all turning out those wonderful cakes that the South Africans are so well known for.Happy baking Ladies

It is so frustrating that my favourite recipe has just not turned out the same over here, heavy texture and comes out flatter.will test it out tomorrow!
