ExASP
Hello to all the saffies in Perth and Brissie. Is there anybody that can help me with advice? We are moving to Perth or Brissie in October. but we have absolutely no idea of what suburbs are to be avoided and which schools are good and so on. my kids are still in primary school. I would like to know what you guys think of your particular suburb and schools around you. Any info or tips on real estate places that are good, transport issues and so on would be greatly appreciated. I have a little trouble finding lots of info here from Alice Springs hehe, and also i would like to hear different opinions and experiences from as many people as possible. Afrikaans or English, I dont mind.... Thanks And on a personal note: Bee Tee....bring nou bietjie jou kant met werksgeleenthede. Ons ken nie dental techs daar nie. Guest Noeks
Hiya ASP, Sorry a bit slow - seems to be story of my life We moved to Perth 4 months ago, having not been to Aus before, and were helped / guided completely by the Relocation Specialist my husband's company provided. You know, its a difficult one, because its such a personal choice. I spent many hours checking out the www.realestate.com.au website for housing (rentals only) and gleaning a general idea of what the areas would be like, before we actually arrived in Perth. So when we got here, I told our RS what I'd been looking at and what I was wanting, both north and south of the Swan, and she took it from there. I thought I would preferably stay south of the river but when she brought me north (Hillarys and up) I just fell in love with the area. But having said that, its once again, such a personal choice and its what you like and want, ASP. We decided to initially rent because didn't want to make mistake of buying too soon and finding we've been too hasty, with regard to schooling and a host of other things. (My daughter is in primary school). We rent in Kallaroo (4X2, pool, close to the beach, etc) and are very, very happy with the area and my daughter's school - can't fault a thing, really. You're welcome to PM me if you want to, will try and answer as much as I can - I know we haven't been here very long, but will help as much as poss. I am also by nature a "banggat" (still think every dude is out to burgle my home / murder/ rape my daughter and I), and with hubby working away from home quite a lot, feel 100% safe here on my own with my little girl - couldn't believe there were no burglar bars initially and still sleep with my master bedroom door locked - ag shame - Be patient with me, its only four months... So there, you have it, better late than never.... Hope it helps a wee bit!
