General Checklist of things to do

I have had several questions over the last while on what documents are required for the visa application process. I took my own checklist that they provided after the application and linked the descriptions and a few short notes in that I thought may add value. Keep in mind that to fill in the form you will also need a bunch of info (such as qualification details, family detail, etc) but you can get that from their site directly.

Sorry guys, seems I am out of space in terms of attachments I can add. I need to try and figure out what to do on this and will then see if I can add the file. Dont want to really delete the other attachments I had in on other posings - they are to help others. Also dont know how to delete the posing once it is in but could edit it.

I thought that together with the list below of the documents attached to the electronic application this posting my aid some people to get their docs together. Just remember that there is also info that is in neither of these attachments but is needed to fill in the application itself, eg family details such as brothers, sisters and parents, etc.

I would appreciate it if others would add to this posting. I may have missed the ball in terms of what I attached. It will thus aid me if someone has something that they think should be added. It would also help others to make sure they have the right stuff from the start.

Please add yout thoughts.

As far as I know you cannot. Only way as far as I know is to send them an email at the address they give you to attach additional documents with the details of what you want to change - 'adelaide.gsm.documents@immi.gov.au'

I found in any event that I had to do that in order to send them the host of additional payslips and bank statements they asked for to prove specific and recent work experience. (Based on the postings after I posted this one)

Hoper this helps.

Hi,

I'm busy getting our Police Clearance Certificates sorted out today and checked our 175 online application this morning. I noticed something interesting in the documents that they require from us. They do not ask for police clearance on our list. I've attached a screencap.

Is this possible, should I do the police clearance anyway and just send it off?

We have amended some things by expanding them, adding columns to some of the templates, etc that we found useful. What I have not done yet is to expand the list of things to do once you lant up here. I have gathered a bit of the info and will work on that over time.

Hi

THanks for your lists, it is AMAZING! You've thought of a zillion things that I would have forgotten to do. I'm doing my visa myself and not through an agent but I have had chats with agents re the application. Can you tell me what additional docs they will need once they've got the medicals and police clearance. According to the agents the next step is a provisional approval when they request more info and then another 3 months before the actual visa comes through. If I look on the websites it seems that I have sent everything listed there.

Thanks a mil, Erna

This is extremely helpful. Thanks! Just a quick question though - Will a letter from my company that states my position and years of employment be enough evidence or do I need to scan in documents of my payslips?

Reynhard, perhaps you need to explain what you are actually asking? Online applications...for what, work applications or visa applications, not sure what applications you are after.

Hi Reynhard!

Like Mara said, your question is VERY broad. Also when it comes to immigrating to Australia, there is not "a process" to follow but thousands of processes - depending on what you want!! :D I suggest you start reading, reading, reading on this forum and as you read, then ask, ask, ask. But you have to come with specific questions. Read the post on the 100 steps to immigrate to Oz. That's a good start.
