Hi. Ek wil my vrees vir my oond oorkom en die naweek weer begin bak en brou. Wil my ma se gesondheidsbeskuit bak maar dit kry nuttywheat in. Wat is n plaasvervanger daarvoor want ek weet nie waarvoor om in oz winkels te soek nie.

Henrietta, you can try the wholegrain flours....if you can find a "Bake it " shop, they have an huge variety of flours...all organic with no preservatives.

Henriette, there is no good substitute but I have figured out that it is the mixture of linseed and sunflower seeds that give it the nutty taste. If you do put it in, grind it yourself in a mortar and pestle. The fresh taste is sensational in a buttermilk rusk recipe. :ilikeit: Aussie customs don't allow imported nuttywheat anymore because of a bug called 'miet'. We had a miet investation and let me tell you... it is not something you want in your kitchen. :unsure:
