DesertDaisy
I am currently at Stay At Home Mom earning some pocket money from freelance writing (I have a degree in Communications and worked in the Internal Comms/PR environment for nearly 10 years). I would love to continue doing this when we get to Australia, and its provided me with the best of both worlds -being a mum and getting some income from an activity I enjoy. However, for us in Oz, its less likely to be a "pocket money" job and far more of a needed income. As such, I need to make sure I can earn at least a regular sort of income.Does anyone know if there are any agencies/writing groups that I can register with to help me earn some money until I start building up contacts of my own?Alternatively, does anyone know if half-day jobs in the PR/Communications are readily available in the Perth area? I have experience in most of the communications mix, including event management, advertising, copywriting, strategic planning, etc etc. But my strength and true love is really writing....Any advice? Norm
...does anyone know which employment agencies one can contact for jobs in print journalism and graphic design in the Adelaide, SA area?Hi guysGo and check out www.adnews.com.au/jobs_main.cfm - they may not have specific jobs you want, but they do have a comprehensive list of recruiters in the industry with links.Alternatively, there is a recruitment company in Cape Town - Viv Gordon Placements (www.vgp.co.za) who seem to be well connected in the Oz market.Norm
