Cindylou
Hi LaraWelcome to the forum, hope you find everything you need here. I was in Howick on the weekend - doing the "midlands meander" and had a lovely day! Tell us a little more about yourself: do you have kids, what type of visa are you going on, do you have a job lined up? Gee, I'm nosey hey! We're also going to Perth, but only sometime in 2007 - hopefully! Have you decided where in Perth you'll live? My brother and family live in Rossmoyne (on Bull Creek) and my mother's in South Perth, we'll be in a strata in Rossmoyne for the first while until we make up our minds where to settle.Hope to "see" you around the forumCindylou
Mickey
We hope to move to Oz July/August. The company conducted their interviews in JHB. We will know at the end of May if we made it. We decided to move to Perth December 2005, but then my husband decided that he rather wants to stay in SA. I was very disappointed. In February I saw an add in Beeld. I forwarded his CV and it now seems if he is more positive about moving to Oz. We have a 4 year old and that is one of his main concerns. We are also Afrikaans speaking so we don't know if he will adapt that easily or not. I just really want to move to Perth. I hope that my husband gets a position in perth otherwise we will have to settle for Bunbury. But I guess that even Bunbury will be a great move comparing to staying here. Guest Lara
Thanks for the welcomes!Small world hey - I love the midlands.I've got 2 boys - little one is almost 3yrs and 4.5yrs. I will only be working if I can arrange childcare that won't cost more than my salary! I'm currently in the UK and have been a stay a home mom since my first was born. Were coming in on a 457 visa through hubby's sponsoring company. We will apply for a 136MODL once we get there. The house prices keep rising so we are going to have to look hard for somewhere to buy as we don't have a huge budget. We'll most probably buy north of the river.Lara Hi LaraWelcome to the forum, hope you find everything you need here. Mickey
Waar in Perth is Welshpool? Is dit 'n redelike omgewing of is dit 'n industriële omgewing? Waar sal mens dan bly in Perth, as my man die aanbod in Welshpool kry? As hy nie daardie aanbod kry nie, is dit dan seker na Bunbury toe. Ek sien nie dat hier eintlik iemand op die forum is wat van Bunbury afkom nie.
Guest Lara
Does anyone know how much childcare will cost for 2 kids in Perth? Ages 2yrs10mths and 4.5yrs.I'm thinking about going back to work as a secretary/personal assistant. But I don't know if I'll earn enough to cover the childcare.Any help on this would be most appreciated. Thanks
Guest Seoul Sister
Hi Lara,Many daycare facilities will calculate an estimate for you personally, when you contact them. As I don't know which part of Perth you are looking at settling in, I have looked all over Perth to try and get some general info for you. The average cost that I have been able to get after looking at a whole array of different daycare centres all over the city is Aus$ 260 per child per week (Aus$ 56 per day). These costs did vary from centre to centre and from area to area. The best thing to do is probably to contact Kindies in the area that you are looking at to see what they will charge you (as I said the amount above was the average, some places cost more).Buggleshttp://www.buggles.com.au/info[at]buggles.com.auMulberry Treehttp://www.mulberrytree.com.au/admin[at]mulberrytree.com.au Contact person is SharonSubicarehttp://www.subicare.com.au/subicare[at]iinet.net.auABC Developmental Learning Centre (Perth WA Australia) 259 Hay Street Perth WA 6000 Phone:(08) 92213456Child Care Resources of W A ( East Perth WA Australia) 13 Regal Place East Perth WA 6004 Phone:(08) 92216300Fax: (08) 92188749If you are looking at South Perth, you can start here :Como Community Kindergarten Ph: 08 9450 4649 Collier Kindergarten Ph: 08 9474 3626 Hensman Street, Kindergarten Ph: 08 9367 2671 Kensington Community Kindergarten Ph: 08 368 2454 Kensington Pre-school Ph: 08 9367 4178 Manning Kindergarten Ph: 08 9450 4068 McDougall Park Kindergarten Ph: 08 9450 3909 South Perth Community Kindergarten Ph: 08 9367 1086 Once you have an area in mind you could probably get a better idea of what it will cost and hopefully some advice on which kindies are the better ones. Guest Seoul Sister
Hi Lara,You're welcome. I'm sorry I can't do more, but I'm sure that once you can pin-point an area of Perth, the local Perth forumites will be able to help with more info... As you have already seen they are all very friendly and helpful in the remote city !! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.Kind RegardsSeoul Sister
