Is daar dalk enige Suid Afrikaners wat in Ballarat opgeland het of omliggende omgewing? Sal baie graag met hulle in kontak wil kom. Om te hoor wat hulle opinie is oor die plek. Ek was ongelukkig net vir 'n dag daar en sal graag meer oor die plek wil uitvind. Die eerste indruk wat ek van die plek gekry het was Pelgrimsrus op "steroids". Pragtige dorp met ongelooflik baie standbeelde en 'n groot meer. Dit klink my dit gaan ons volgende tuiste wees.

I was waiting to see if somebody else was going to reply to your message, but it appears they are all on leave. I know there are at least two families that live in Ballarat, but I have lost contact with them, so they may have moved on.

Ballarat is a small country Victoria town, as you say. We have only been there a few times, and have never lived there. To be honest, I personally would not mind living in country Victoria, and a place like Ballarat you would have the best of both worlds. Living in the country, friendlier people, cheaper cost of living, and close to the big smoke for some serious shopping or medical care if required.

Thank you so much for your reply. As you can see I'm new at this. Therefore I appreciate any reply what so ever. As I read through this forum, I had it that you are in Melbourne. Good to know that. Ballarat is thus not to for from the "big smoke" as you've mentioned. Also thanks a mil for the websites. I'm gonna jump on them all right now.

Hope to talk to again sometime. Because there will be millions of stupid questions that I will be needing answers for.
